Invitation to V.I. National Championships in Track and Field & V.I. High School Championships…

            The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation announced today that the Annual Virgin Islands National Track and Field Championships will be held on March 31, 3pm/April 1,  8am in St. Croix at The St. Croix Educational Complex High School Track(the competition will also include the Virgin Islands High School Championships).

Athletes of all ages are invited to compete in open and age-group categories.  Athletes who are eligible for V.I. National Teams (athletes registered with the VITFF) will:

1]  have opportunity to meet qualification standards for V.I. National Teams including CARIFTA and NACAC Under 23 Championships.

2] be considered for V.I. National Track and Field Teams for international championships competition.

EVENTS CONTESTED:

MARCH 31

Field Events Male/Female: Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put, Discus
Track Events Male/Female: 3000m

APRIL 1

Track Events Male/Female: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m

Electronic timing will be utilized.
